State Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration Goran Jovetić chaired the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Operational Team session, which considered proposals and suggestions received during the public consultation on the Draft Action Plan, which lasted until October 4.

At the meeting, it was assessed that the aim of the Action Plan is to propose concrete, realistic and tangible activities that will improve the transparency of public administration and involve citizens in creating public policies. The National Action Plan should be a quality basis for further fostering transparency and accountability of institutions and public participation, primarily, more transparent and efficient implementation of public consultations and greater accessibility of services, it was assessed at the meeting.

The Operational Team prepared a proposal of the Action Plan that the Government will consider in November, which will include measures and activities in the area of public services, public participation, fiscal transparency, public administration integrity, access to information, open data, etc. By the end of the year, Montenegro should develop an Action Plan that is the most important component of a country’s participation in the OGP initiative.
